The Gospel is the Good News. In fact the word Gospel means Good News. The Gospel is the most important message we could share with you and goes far beyond Jesus simply being a good man. We’d like for you to know who Jesus really is. And we’d like for you to know and understand the Gospel.
The Gospel, simply put, is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
1 Corinthians 15:3-4
Why is that Good News?
Everyone of us is born a sinner and unable to stand in Heaven (a perfect place) with God who is holy and pure.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23
The Gift Of God Is Jesus
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Heres how it works:
- One book is written: The life and times of Joe Anybody.
It is a record of rebellion, lying, stealing, cursing, disobedience, sacrilege…
- Another book is written: The life and times of Jesus Christ.
No one who reads that book can legitimately accuse or convict its subject of sin.
When a person comes to God, trusting His Son for salvation, the Lord takes the two books and SWITCHES the COVERS. Now all the persons sins are placed on Jesus Christ, and all His righteousness is accounted to that person! God SWAPPED the books!
“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21
If you have received Jesus Christ as your savior or would like to talk more about it we would love to hear from you.
